a limited slip diff. What is wrong?

could be a few things wrong including:
- LSD
is worn out or broken
- Broken
axle
- Might
not be an LSD diff

The most common cause is bearing failure.
Q. When I change from 1st gear
into 2nd gear there is a loud grating type sound before it goes into gear.
What is it?

This sound effect is caused by a faulty or worn out synchro ring clutch
hub fault
Q. When I select reverse it
makes a loud grinding type noise and won't go into gear. What's the problem?

The clutch could need re-adjusting because of excessive free play, or it
is worn out.
Q. When driving my vehicle,
it makes a constant noise, but when I back off and on the throttle the noise
changes. Any ideas?
A. Your
differential will create this noise change. A worn out bearing or bearings
on the crown wheel, and passed its used by date. |
